investools ® has caused quite the stir amongst investors seeking good profit turn around in a short period of time. We have found that investors have had both positive and negative experiences with investools ® . From the free seminar to the software itself, investools ® has both enlightened and alienated stock and options traders. Their program intends that if the investor will follow several steps in an exact manner, you are sure to make money. investools ® Investor Education says that they take the next step in training investors to tackle up down and sideways markets. Is it true? Can investools ® work for you? Is stock trading in your future or options? What way can you make money now?

I had absolutely no knowledge about stocks or anything, but investools ® has
completely changed that. Within my first couple trades, I had a stock go up
by 30% in just a week and all I did was completely follow the system. I'm
only 21, and I have yet to lose any money. Although there are never 100%
guarantees in life, I now know that I can recommend this program to anyone,
and IF they do exactly what investools ® says, they WILL make money. There is
no emotion, no gambling, etc. - it is just following the system and
developing your knowledge. Now I don't mind making riskier investments with
the knowledge I've gained and I have access to a set of tools that makes
access to the stock market a reality for anybody who wants it!

I have mixed feelings about investools ® . After spending a LOT of money on
their training, I have found that I could have taken FREE classroom courses
taught by floor traders through optionplanet (which I later did), and learned as much about options. Actually, I learned more.

Ironically, there was an investools ® currency trading class being held next
door to the free course I was taking that day. The instructors at the
optionplanet course did not recommend anything in particular, but they did
say that Optionetics (to which they have no affiliation) offered good
instruction. He refused to comment on investools ® , but went on to say that
there were a lot of BS courses out there.

The investools ® website is helpful, but the problem is that you have to pay
for their overpriced courses in order to use it. I was also told that I
would be instructed on how to set up trading as a business, but that never
happened. The advanced options course I paid for turned out to be 6 DVDs
with people taking about option strategies. When you bring something like
that up to them, you just get a sales pitch for their 8000.00 Salt Lake City
course.

One point that the author of Market Wizards makes is that no sane person
would think that they could read a few books about brain surgery, and then
go of and operate on someone. The guys who teach the optionplanet courses
emphasize that it takes 12 to 18 months of intense full time training before
someone is allowed to work on the trading floor unsupervised -so why do
people (myself included at one time) think that they can learn to trade
against professionals (because that's who's on the other side of your
trades) after 3 days of training?

If you're starting out, and want to learn about trading (I was especially
interested in options), I recommend the following to get started:

Go to optionplanet and check out when
they'll be in your area (they move from coast to coast).

If you're interested in technical analysis, go to amazon
and get a copy of the Intelyze Advanced Technical Analysis
course on CD. It's only 144.00 on Amazon (retails for 299.00), it's
interactive (very cool) and it compares more than favorably to the
investools ® Advanced Technical Analysis courseware, which costs 2600.00.

Investools ® is a scam that I think will be exposed pretty soon by the
media. Just how long can they lie to the public in order to make sales and
get away with it? I think it's time for the students to come forward and
tell the truth about their investing experiences using the Investools
trading strategies. I will be the first.

I invested nearly $13,000 into Investools ® for my education. I received
one-on-one coaching by phone, all the materials to the PHD level, and
access to the Trading Rooms for several months. I also attended the 2 day
seminar and the Options seminar in person. At one seminar someone asked
how much the average student makes, and the saleman replied "Our average
student makes 30% a year." When he said this, I found it rather odd that
nobody in the class had made any money yet and most had been students for
at least 6 months already. Anyway, after that I continued my education
with them for 2 years.

Well, after 2 years of studying with Investools ® I have not made back my
tuition, which was part of their sales pitch. In fact, I have now lost
over 30% of my investing money. How did this happen? It's hard to believe
that I have done so badly with such and expensive education. Some might
think that I did not study the materials or apply the trading techniques
correctly. All I can say is I used their website nearly every day for 2
hours, I called the hotline many times, and I watched the trading rooms
over and over, and I still lost money. Now that I have stopped using their
methods for about 6 months, I can look back and see what is wrong with
their system.

The main problem with Investools is that they are teaching Option trading,
but their website does not have the tools you need to succeed with
options. To be more specific, their website does not plot the RISK GRAPH
for your option positions. What I have learned since leaving them is that
you can't trade options without the proper tools. Investools ® should not be
teaching options at all until they upgrade their site to have risk graphs.
I bet their teachers are using software by other companies to trade option
spreads, but they don't tell you this.

I have since found the proper software needed with another company, and
this is why I can now look back and see what is wrong with Investools. I
lost a lot of money using Investools ® because I was trying to trade options
without the tools I needed.

The other problem with Investools ® is that they teach a lot of strategies,
but they leave it up to the student to figure out which strategy to use,
and if you lose money on a trade, they ask you "Did you backtest this
strategy?" The thing that makes me mad is they have no backtrading
software on their site either, another tool needed to succeed. I looked
around the net and could not find anything good for under $1,000. Anyway,
I was trading what they taught me. I paid them thousands of dollars to
teach me what works and what doesn't, so why are they asking me if I
backtested my idea? I should have been asking them if they backtested what
they are teaching.

Now that I have progressed with a much better company, I can clearly see
what a scam Investools is. They charge an arm and a leg for their
education, but they don't even provide the students with the tools to
succeed. You still have to go to 3rd party software to succeed on the
market, and you have to learn skills they do not teach. If you are another
Investools student who has had a hard time on the market, let me give you
a couple tips that might help. Focus more on the credit spreads. Learn
double diagonals, iron condors and vertical spreads. This is where I am
finding I can make money consistently. Don't try buying calls and puts
because you will lose. I also lost a lot on covered calls. Investools
makes them seem like a good vehicle, but they can be very dangerous as I
found out.

I'd like to finish with this. I know I am not the only advanced Investools
student that lost money. I have made several friends through their
network. Most other students have experienced similar problems. They are
taught all the techniques when we really just wanted to learn how to make
money. Investools ® leaves you to figure out how to make money. They tell
you to backtest and figure it out on your own, eventhough you pay them
thousands of dollars to teach you what works. Also, the Investools ® website
has a lot of info, but that just means it takes you longer to find the
info you need. You have to manually look at hundreds of charts a day, try
to find breakout patterns like flags, etc, and all this takes up a lot of
time. I can't tell you how many hours of my life I wasted on their site.

How about a Refund? Are you crazy? Investools will bend over backwards and
allow you to charge the class on 3 different credit cards to pay for it.
But if you want a refund, they say someone will call you back in a few
weeks, and then they never do. You can file a complaint with the Better
Business Bureau but they don't answer. You can contact your sales rep, and
he'll say sorry charlie. My sales rep said we would make back all our
money within 6 months; it never happened. He also said the average student
makes 30%, not true. And by the way, where do they get that stat? They
never asked me how much I lost this year.

The only good thing I got from my Investools ® education was that it gave me
enough background to recognize a better company. So I have continued my
education with a much better program and I am starting to make money now.
I am now getting back my confidence and starting to believe this can
actually happen, but I can honestly say it's not with the Investools
methods, and I would never recommend anyone else to pay them the money I
did. Look around because there are better courses out there with better
people. Investools ® does not care about their students. I paid them $13,000
and they have treated me very poorly. If you are also an Investools
student, I would like to hear if you made money or not. I know there will
be many people from the company posting they made a million bucks, but I
hope to find some real student feedback too.

My husband and I have been involved with Investools ® for about a year now
and are very happy with the education. We have only papertraded and have
learned a lot. We believe you get what you put into it. If you put the
time an effort into learning all the information then it is totally worth
every penny. We purchased the PhD program and are very glad we did. We
went to the 3 day Options Live Event in Utah last month and again were
very pleased with the training. We feel that this is like going back to
college for a Masters Degree. This is definitely NOT a get rich quick
scam....it takes tons of time (hours and hours of studying and coaching)
and effort and willingness to learn.
